I finally had a chance to sit in on a Second Life training on Sloodle, a mashup between Moodle and Second Life. It is a rather exciting project because it will allow my students who don’t have the hardware to run the Second Life viewer to be able to chat and interact live with those of us in-world. They can accomplish this through a chat interface that can be connected in Second Life and within your browser, when logged into my Moodle site.
The tools that can be used in both places include chatting, blogging in-world that will post on your Moodle account, and a quiz chair that will save answers to Moodle for grading. That’s all I know so far, but it’s already exciting. Oh, and there’s going to be a tool that will allow students to upload their builds for grading.
