WordPress Series Plugin

Wordpress Series Widget

I have found an absolutely awesome plugin for WordPress that allows you to assign blog posts into a series.  Since I have nuked my personal web site that held all sorts of technology helps and decided to post them here, this series plugin will help you find the pages.  You will find a list of my learning series on the sidebar to the right.  Awesome, huh?

Anyway, download the plugin, activate it, then in the Manage tab of your admin area start adding a series name and description.

Your new series should then show up in the post editor page.

Adding your WordPress post to a Series with the Organize Series plugin

You simply select the radio button of your series and you can specify a series part number. However, the numbering is automatic according to the order that you add pages in the series. Easy peasy. Once a post is in a series, you can easily tell by going into the manage posts page. You will see the series information to the right of the post row. If you are not happy with the series or want to take the post out of the series, you can simply edit the post.

I just love this option. It alleviates the need for me to try to maintain a separate web site. Cool!
