Safari Security Flaw on Windows

Apparently, there is a security flaw in the Windows version of the Safari browser that allows many downloads at once and saves them to the desktop.  This sounds like a big problem.

Yet, this has been another chance for Mac haters to slam the company and it’s software.  It is frustrating to me as a Mac user.

I just wonder if it is Apple’s fault with programming in Safari or if it’s a hole in the Windows OS.  Apple is saying they won’t fix the problem, but it seems they said that before it was discovered the problem is worse than thought.

So Microsoft is warning Windows users of Safari to stop using the browser until the hole is repaired.  I would concur.  However, those of you who are web developers I would highly recommend that you use Safari to check your own sites.  You need to make sure that people like me, who use Safari on my Mac, can see your site as intended.

I would also recommend that you set your Safari preferences so downloaded files are not opened automatically.  I don’t know where the setting is in your Windows browser, but it is in the General tab of my Safari preferences settings.

This is definitely not expected. And they should come out with some solution to this problem as soon as possible.
