Apple’s Motion 4 is now out as part of Final Cut Studio 3. Motion is Apple’s video motion graphics editor. A lot of show openings and zippy graphics on commercials use Motion to create the cool 2D/3D video effects.
If you are preparing for the certification exam, you will want to use the flash cards I have created from the questions in the Motion 4 book by Mark Spencer. You will want to thoroughly go through this excellent book before taking the exam.
I have saved my flash cards in two formats: the first file is a compressed folder that holds images of all the front and backs of each flash card (meant for iPhone/iTouch) and the other format is a PDF file that can be printed, folded and cut out.
You will want to study the following areas:
- 3D
- Audio
- Behaviors/Filters
- Clone
- Export/Share
- Importing
- Interface
- Keyframing
- Layers
- Paint
- Particles/Replicators
- Project Settings
- Speed
- Studio Integration
- Templates
- Text
I also recommend that you watch the free training videos on Apple’s web site.
* I have described how to use these flash card images on your iPhone/iTouch in a post at http://www.edtechblog.org/technology/adding-images-to-your-iphoneitouch/ These images are sequentially numbered so they show up with the flash card back right after you see the flash card front.
** This document is a printable PDF file that can be folded, glued, and cut to create business card sized flash cards.

Nice!
Forgive my ignorance, but how do you get these into iTunes to sync with the iPhone? I tried adding them to the iTunes Library via the File > Add to Library command without success.
No problem. After all, you know all things Motion, so why should you know all other things, too?
I will write up a little lesson on how to add these images to your iPhone/iTouch, then I will link to it from this post.
