Good Morning Everyone,

It’s time to get ready for the SOLs!!! In order to do this we need to not only review test content, but the testing environment so that students are comfortable with taking their SOL online. Everything you need is located on VDOE’s website and contains practice items, audio practice items, and a teacher guide. Remember, as in years past, we are responsible for training the students on the testing environment prior to them taking their SOLs. I know many of you have already started with this, but just in case you haven’t I wanted to post this reminder.
  1. Practice items in Test Nav environment @ http://www.doe.virginia.gov/testing/sol/practice_items
  2. Teacher directions are located on same page.
  3. Audio practice items are available for students taking audio tests.
  4. Math, Reading, English, and Science are represented on the page. This means that Social Studies teachers will want to use a different content area test to provide students with the opportunity to practice with the tools only (SS practice content @ http://www.doe.virginia.gov/testing/sol/released_tests/)
  5. All teachers should provide practice for their students by this Friday (5-17).
  6. We are responsible for ensuring that 100% of our students are trained in the tools prior to testing.

Please let me know if you have questions or need any help with training. Have a great day,
