Henrico GAFE

Google Apps for Education (GAFE) offers an outstanding array of online software for students and teachers. I love the fact that I can store an unlimited amount of files in Google Drive and easily share out those files with students and colleagues with just the click on a button. Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms has completely replaced my reliance on Microsoft Office. As a matter of fact, it has been nearly 2 years since I have used any Office products! Google Calendar provides me with the convenience to quickly schedule meetings and keep track of important events. Google Sites wiki like editing has replaced my reliance on Dreamweaver and is now my go to web publishing platform. Additionally, I am working with quite a few Holman teachers who are now using Google Classroom as their Learning Management System (LMS) to effortlessly share out documents with the students they teach. I guess some may refer to me as a Google junkie! You would think such quality online apps would cost an excessive amount, but Google offers GAFE free of charge to students and teachers.

With everything Google has to offer some may have questions about where to begin? Henrico County has a Google Apps For Education website that will hopefully answer some of those questions. The website houses directions for using and implementing many of the available Google products and the site is constantly updated with new and relevant information. If you have a specific question about a Google product, there is a form on the website that allows for you to ask your question and someone from the GAFE team will respond to your question within 24 hours. If you have not done so already, please check out www.henricogafe.org and be sure to add it to your list of bookmarks in Chrome.
