It is the simple things in life that make me happy. For years I obsessed and fretted over the fact that I was not able to merge table cells in a Google Doc. I never understood why this was not a required feature, and one that was sorely lacking. Well there has been a recent update to Google Docs and users now have the ability to merge cells in a table! Just insert a table in a Google Doc, right click on specific highlighted cells and select merge cells.  I am a happy guy.
