Kippt.com

I love kippt.com. It takes social bookmarking to a whole new level and does so in a way that is easy and intuitive. It's nice knowing that all of my bookmarks are safely stored in the cloud, and that I can share my public links with teachers and students. Kippt has a great collaboration piece that enables me to invite collaborators who can add helpful links they discover to any of the lists I had previously created.

Kippt.com would be a great tool to use in the classroom and provides the appropriate structure when you have a group of students working together to discover websites for an assigned project. A student in the group might create a list entitled "student investigation" and share it out with the rest of  group members. The other group members will then have rights to add their newly discovered links to that specific list. All this information can be assembled and organized by any of the students working in that group. I have included directions below explaining how teachers and students can sign up for a free kippt account. There is also a pretty solid iphone app called Kippster ($2.99) that I downloaded from the app store.
